Wendy Davies' Dubious Land Grab Threatens Community and Wildlife on Chelford Road

"Erection of two detached four bedroom dwellings with assoicated landscaping and parking"
Land on Chelford Road, Macclesfield
Satirical depiction of Weasely Wendy Davies

Wendy Davies, an opportunist from Macclesfield, has turned the land next to 46B Chelford Road into an unmaintained dumping ground and then claimed it for herself through adverse possession. Now she's trying to cash in by selling it on to developers, despite never having purchased it properly. The council must not be seen to reward or facilitate squatting for private profit.

Legal Integrity Concerns: The planning application for the land adjacent to 46B Chelford Road is highly problematic. Wendy Davies, who never held the deed or title, has claimed the site through adverse possession and is seeking to sell it to out of town developers, Stacey Pattison. This sets a troubling precedent, rewarding squatting and undermining trust in the planning process, as Davies attempts to profit from land that should serve the community.
Community Impact: The proposed development is fundamentally unsuited to the plot. The planned houses are far too large for the narrow site, encroaching on neighbouring properties and overshadowing existing homes. This would reduce natural light, degrade residents' outlook, and introduce significant noise, light pollution, and extra traffic to an already congested area, especially near the hazardous Whirley Road junction.
Environmental Destruction: Environmentally, the scheme would destroy a valuable green space that currently supports a range of wildlife, including protected species such as bats and badgers. The loss of mature trees (some with preservation orders) and natural vegetation would worsen local pollution and increase flood risk for surrounding homes.

Summary

This application poses unacceptable risks to the area's ecology, safety, and legal integrity. The combination of questionable land acquisition, inappropriate development scale, and environmental destruction makes this proposal unsuitable for approval.
